Jersey COunty ROSC COuncil
What is a rosc?
Illinois rosc program
A network of people working together to make sure people have the resources they need to be successful in recovery.
In 2018, Illinois launched Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (ROSC) Councils across the state to foster the development of strong recovery-focused care systems in local areas. These councils have achieved significant success in creating stakeholder networks committed to promoting recovery in their communities. ROSC Councils engage in local initiatives that promote recovery readiness and participate in a Statewide ROSC Learning Collaborative (SRLC) to support their work.

Harm Reduction is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that focuses on keeping people safe and reducing the risks associated with substance use. It helps protect everyone in our community—including children and older adults—by preventing overdose. Harm reduction includes tools like naloxone, fentanyl test strips, and connections to treatment and recovery support, saving lives and creating pathways to recovery. More harm reduction items such as fentanyl, benzo, xylazine test strips, Deterra drug deactivation systems, and medicine bottle locks are available at the Jersey County Health Department.

Connect with a recovery peer
The Power of Recovery Peer Support in Communities
Recovery peer support brings hope, connection, and real-life understanding to individuals navigating substance use recovery. Peers are people with lived experience who use their personal journeys to support others with empathy and without judgment.
In communities, peer support helps reduce stigma, increase engagement in treatment, lower relapse rates, and build stronger recovery networks. Peers connect individuals to resources, encourage accountability, and remind people they are not alone.
When communities invest in recovery peer support, they strengthen families, improve public health, and create pathways for long-term recovery and resilience.
